I missed you more today ………
From W.H. Auden’s Stop All the Clocks
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever, I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun.
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
I felt your absence everywhere I looked, and in every face I saw. All I needed was your presence….. as always. They say you don’t have a right to miss somebody you don’t have. My heart disagrees. I will always always miss you!
The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to ocean –
Holding the curve of one position,
Counting an endless repetition.
